Upper Lafayette Parish Welcomes Couret Farms Traditional Neighborhood Development

LAFAYETTE — The key figures behind River Ranch are moving forward with a 125-acre residential and commercial development in north Lafayette.

Couret Farms is planned for a large tract off Pont des Mouton, the site of a similar planned development that foundered in 2006 because of financing problems.

River Ranch developer Robert Daigle, who was not involved in the earlier project, said he had an early interest in the property, but “it was kind of a mess with all the litigation.”

Those issues have been cleaned up, and Daigle received approval from the City-Parish Planning Commission earlier this month to begin developing about 15 acres of the site.
