Julie Simon-Dronet is the Market Vice President of the Acadiana operation of Cox in the Southeast Region. In her role at Cox, she is responsible for providing leadership and focus, leading the workforce, overseeing business operations and the customer experience, and providing community engagement for the Cox organization.
Julie currently serves on the Board of Directors of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center, the Executive Board of the UL Alumni Association, and the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of One Acadiana. She served as the 2014 Chairman of the Board of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce as it transformed from a local Chamber into the nine-parish regional organization of One Acadiana. In the past, Julie has held leadership roles in several community organizations such as United Way of Acadiana, Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center’s Foundation, Leadership Lafayette, St. Thomas More Catholic High School Board, and the Lafayette Education Foundation.
Prior to joining Cox, Julie spent 18 years at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as the Director of Communications and Marketing where she served in a key strategic role. Her professional background also includes serving as Marketing Director of a psychiatric hospital and as a Copywriter in a local advertising firm.
Julie is a lifetime member of the Alumni Association at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, a graduate of the 2011 Class of Leadership Louisiana, and a graduate of Leadership Lafayette IV.
She is a life-long resident of Acadiana and holds a B.A. in English/Journalism with a Public Relations Minor. Julie and her husband, Keith, reside in Lafayette. They have two adult daughters, Sara Dronet Young and Natalie Dronet Weaver.
