Jan Swift served as Executive Director from January 2008 until September 2017 and in that capacity, hosted Upper Lafayette's television show, “Upper Lafayette, On the Move,” which highlights business and community leaders bi-weekly on Acadiana Open Channel. She is a graduate of LSU and LSU Law School.
On behalf of Upper Lafayette, Jan is a member and Vice-Chair of the Lafayette Parish Educaton Stakeholders Council. She was a member of the 2014 Leadership Louisiana class and Class XXII of Lafayette Leadership. She also serves on the Boardof Directors of the Paul and Lulu Hilliard University Art Museum at UL - Lafayette. Jan attends Asbury United Methodist Church, and led the 2011 Stewardship Drive. She recently completed a three year term on the Board of Directors of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce and continues to enjoy being involved as a OneAcadiana member and supporter. She serves on the I-49 South Task Force appointed by Gov. Bobby Jindal. She was honored in February 2011 as a “Fittest Exec” by ABiz, a publication of the Independent Weekly, and was a 2008 “Woman of Excellence” honored by the Lafayette Commission on the Needs of Women. She and her husband, John, have two daughters, a Golden Retriever and a rescue puppy.
